I apologize for the delay in blog editions. I am lazy about contributing because Joey does most of the writing. It was something he enjoyed doing when there was something to write about. And that was the problem. On August 5 I decided to return to the Great Lakes, specifically Chicago, IL. We loaded the boat on a truck and shipped it to Crowleys in Chicago. The list is long why I decided to return but the ultimate reason was I was not having any fun. It became to much like work. The weather, tides, shallow water, low bridges, poor marinas, communications, etc., etc., all contributed to my decision.Joey would have continued but honored my decision.
The three months spent together with my son were wonderful. I can’t say enough about Joey. We had some great experiences together. I could not have done this without him. I love this young man and am a very proud father. I will never forget our time together.
I may continue the blog. I’m searching for a theme. But, I’m not sure my life or thoughts are interesting enough for anyone to read. Stay tuned. If you remain subscribed, I may surprise you someday.
Joey immediately started searching for a job. He had three offers within a week. One would have involved him moving to San Francisco working for Port Supply, the commercial division of West Marine. He chose to return to the company he had been working for. They welcomed him back ,promoted him, and added some additional perquisites.
Thanks to all who followed us.

Welcome home. If it’s work (and you are retired)….why do it! At least there were some FUN memories along the way!

Joe, I feel the pain in your heart, but the love out weighs it all. Don’t give up the blog. As you sail local share your experiences. I and others only get to live them vicariously and are happy to enjoy the ride that way with you. God has given you many blessings and he wants you to share what and who you are with others!

I can just imagine the fun you two had together. My son Mike Jr. and I share the same relationship. We almost finish one another’s sentences when we are together. It would be great to see you at Homecoming Joe. Would love to hear all about your adventure. Welcome back.

    Hi Gary & Joey,
Happy to see your blog today. Well, when it gets to be nothing but work it takes the fun out.
As I have said before I enjoyed every blog that was sent and felt I was going right along with you.
You guys will have some precious memories to talk about for years to come.
    No regrets!
    Blessings to all,
    Betty

    Hi Gary and Joey
Sorry to hear your plans have changed. I enjoyed your blog and will miss the adventure. On a brighter note, I am sure we will cross paths again in Lake Michigan and possibly Strictly Sail in Chicago.
